Easy Like and Share Plugin Configuration Part 1 18 February 2012 administrator Easy Like and Share Configuration: Plugin Settings   Content Area Button Settings Excluded Articles: Use this field to list any specific Articles that you DO NOT wish the buttons to appear within. (Comma separated list)Excluded Categories: Use this field to list any specific Categories that you DO NOT wish the buttons to appear within. (Comma separated list) Enable on Article view (Yes/No): Enabling this feature allows the buttons to appear within your standard Joomla Article content.Enable on Frontpage view (Yes/No): Enabling this feature allows the buttons to appear within the content of the Frontpage Article.Enable on Category view (Yes/No): Enabling this feature allows the buttons to appear when displaying your content in Category view.Enable on Section view (Yes/No): Enabling this feature allows the buttons to appear when displaying your content in Section view.Enable Embed Code (Yes/No): Enabling this feature allows the display of the buttons within the content of an Article – once enabled place this string (including the brackets) anywhere you wish the buttons to appear. {easylikeandshare) CSS Style: Use this area to apply any custom CSS styling to the button group. Alignment (Horizontal/Vertical): Choose the direction you plan to display the buttons, either horizontal row or vertical tower. Centering (Left/Right/Center): This setting determines how the buttons align within their respective div area.   Sidebar Area Button Settings Enable Icons on Side (Yes/No): Enabling this feature allows the display of the buttons along the side of the screen or the side of your content.Margin from Top or Bottom: This is the amount of space in pixels that will precede the display of the buttons.  This distance will be either spaced away from the top of the page if you choose ‘Top Placement’ or spaced up from the bottom of the page if you choose ‘Bottom Placement’.Margin L/R or Center: This is the amount of space in pixels the buttons will be spaced away from either the center of the page if you choose ‘Center Starting Position’ or the side of the page if you choose ‘Side Starting Position’.Style Fixed or Floating (Fixed/Floating): Fixed means your buttons are fixed to a specific location on the screen and will not move even if the page scrolls. Floating means that the icons will move along with the web-page if it scrolls up or down.Starting Position of Icons (Center of Screen/Side of Screen): Choosing ‘Center of Screen’ will allow you to place your icons along the side of your content area and because the icons are set to an explicit distance away from the center of the screen, they will always appear perfectly placed alongside the content even if viewed in different screen resolutions and widths. Choosing ‘Side of Screen’ will place the icons alongside the outer edge of the screen. In this scenario, the icons will float at the edge of the screen and may appear closer or further away from the content area depending on what resolution or screen width the website is viewed in.Orientation of Icons (Right/Left): This determines on which side of the screen the icons are to be displayed, either the left or the right.Placement of Icons (Bottom/Top): This determines whether the display of the icons originates from the top of the webpage or the bottom.Display a Backdrop (Yes/No): Enabling this feature allows the display of a shaded rectangular ‘Backdrop’ upon which the buttons will appear.Backdrop Color: Place the HEX value for the color you wish to use for the backdrop here.Backdrop Height: The size in pixels to use for the Backdrop height.Backdrop Width: The size in pixels to use for the Backdrop width. Button CSS Style: Place any custom CSS Style for the button group in this area.   Google +1 Settings (Content Area) / Google +1 Settings (Sidebar) Display Google +1 (Yes/No): Enabling this setting will display the Google +1 share in the content area or the sidebar. Force Button Order (1-8): Use this setting to determine the order in which you would like the button to appear. CSS Style: Place any custom CSS Style for the Google button here. Button Height: This setting can be used to over-ride the default height for the Google +1 share button. Height is in pixels. This height is for the area within in which the button will be displayed. Changing this setting will not alter the size of the actual button. Typically this setting can be used for fine adjustments to alter the distance between this button and the button above or below it. Button Width: This setting can be used to over-ride the default width for the Google +1 share button. Width is in pixels. This width is for the area within in which the button will be displayed. Changing this setting will not alter the size of the actual button. Typically this setting can be used for fine adjustments to alter the distance between this button and the button to the right or the left of it. Include Google Javascript (Yes/No): Enabling this setting loads the Google Javascript library. Use this if the Javascript library is not included anywhere else within the website. If the Google Javascript library is already loaded by another extension or you have manually included it in head of the website this setting can be disabled. Google +1 Layout Style (Small/Standard/Medium/Tall): Choose the style of button you wish to display. Annotation (None/Inline/Bubble): Choose the type of annotation you wish to display. Language Name (Arabic/Bulgarian/Catalan/Chinese (Simplified)/Chinese (Traditional)/Croatian/Czech/Danish/Dutch/English (UK)/English (US)/Estonian/Filipino/Finnish/French/German/Greek/Hebrew/Hindi/Hungarian/Indonesian/Italian/Japanese/Korean/Latvian/Lithuanian/Malay/Norwegian/Persian/Polish/Portuguese (Brazil)/Portuguese (Portugal)/Romanian/Russian/Serbian/Slovak/Slovenian/Spanish/Spanish (Latin America)/Swedish/Thai/Turkish/Ukrainian/Vietnamese): Choose a language for the Google +1 Button. Custom URL: Use this setting to declare a specific URL that you would like to be sent to Google +1. Leaving this field empty will allow the default URL of the current page or article to be used for the Google +1.   Facebook Like Settings (Content Area) / Facebook Like Settings (Sidebar) Facebook Like (Yes/No): Enabling this setting will display the Facebook Like Button in the content area or the sidebar. Output (IFrame-HTML/XFBML-HTML5 Compliant): Choose how you would like your button to be rendered, either within an iframe or utilizing the Facebook Javascript. (To enable the send button, XFBML must be selected). Embed Javascript (Yes/No): Enabling this setting loads the Facebook Javascript library. Use this if the Javascript library is not included anywhere else within the website. If the Facebook Javascript library is already loaded by another extension or you have manually included it in head of the website this setting can be disabled. App ID (for Javascript SDK): If using the Facebook Javascript Library an app ID is required, if you do not already have an App ID you can get one by taking this link: Facebook App ID. However, if you have a business page on Facebook then you already have an App ID. Use this link to take you to your apps on facebook: Facebook Apps Page. You will find the App ID under Summary AppID/API Key. Send Button (Yes/No): Enable this feature if you wish to display the Send button which allows sharing the current link with your facebook friends through their Facebook email account. (To use this function you must have set the Output above to XFBML). Auto URL Discovery (Yes/No): Using this feature detects the current URL and uses it as the share/like link. Facebook URL: If you have a Facebook Fan Business page then you should put the url to your fan page here. Layout Style (Standard/Button_Count/Box_Count): Choose the style of Facebook Button that you would like to display. Show Faces (Yes/No): Choose whether or not you would like to display the faces of anyone who has liked your page. Verb to Display (Like/Recommend): Select either Like or Recommend to be displayed on the Facebook Share Button. Font (arial/lucida grande/segoe ui/tahoma/trebuchet ms/verdana): Choose the font that you would like to be used for the Facebook Share Button. Color Scheme (Light/Dark): Pick which color scheme matches your webpage theme the best. General Overview:

This Social Bookmarking Extension (both module and plugin) is designed to allow you to easily create convenient Social Bookmarking Buttons for the members and guests on your website to Bookmark, Share, Like, or Recommend interesting articles or content they find on your site on the top social media sites and social bookmarking sites online. Clicking on one of the Social Bookmarking Buttons takes the user directly to the Social Bookmarking Submission Page, Social Share Submission Page, or Social Recommendation Page on the selected site and then Automatically Populates the url and title of the Current Page or Current Article directly into the submission form.

 

 

Quick Installation Instructions (Module):

  1. Download the Module that you wish to install from our website.
  2. Unzip the package using a compression utility such as winzip or winrar.
  3. Login to your joomla backend and click ‘Extension Manager”.
  4. Click the ‘Browse’ button and find the location where you saved the download to your computer.
  5. Select the module that you wish to install.
  6. Press ‘Upload & Install’.
  7. Under ‘Extensions’ on the Menu select ‘Module Manager’.
  8. In ‘Filter’ type ‘Easy Like and Share’ and click ‘Go’.
  9. Click on ‘Easy Like and Share’ to open the Module Configuration.

 

Quick Installation Instructions (Plugin):

  1. Download the Plugin that you wish to install from our website.

Custom Social Bookmarking Button Creation Instructions:

If you would like to create a custom Social Bookmarking Button follow this guide.

  1. First choose a Social Bookmarking Button image icon. (size should be 64 x 64 or 32 x 32).
  2. The Social Bookmarking Button image icon needs to be uploaded to the correct folder using an ftp client.
  3. For the plugin the path to the correct folder would be ‘../plugins/system/geniusicons’.
  4. For the module the path to the correct folder would be ‘../modules/mod_bookmarkinggenius/icons’.
  5. The filename of the Social Bookmarking Button image icon must be the same as the name that you choose for the ‘Social Bookmarking Site Name’. Example: If you were adding a new link to a website called ‘BookmarkHeaven’ then you would name your Social Bookmarking Button image icon ‘bookmarkheaven.png’.
  6. The Social Bookmarking Button image icon name must be all lower case. The Social Bookmarking Site name can contain either upper or lower case letters but no spaces.
  7. You will need to create and include a connection string. Connection strings should be parsed correctly for a url. Standard url formatting applies.
  8. Two optional substitution parameters are available in the connection string: $url and $title2.
  9. $url will be replaced by the Current Url of the Article or Page.
  10. $title2 will be replaced by the Current Title of the Article or Page.

This Social Bookmarking Extension (both module and plugin) is designed to allow you to easily create convenient Social Bookmarking Buttons for the members and guests on your website to Bookmark, Share, Like, or Recommend interesting articles or content they find on your site on the top social media sites and social bookmarking sites online. Clicking on one of the Social Bookmarking Buttons takes the user directly to the Social Bookmarking Submission Page, Social Share Submission Page, or Social Recommendation Page on the selected site and then Automatically Populates the url and title of the Current Page or Current Article directly into the submission form.

Quick Installation Instructions (Module):

  1. Download the Module that you wish to install from our website.
  2. Unzip the package using a compression utility such as winzip or winrar.
  3. Login to your joomla backend and click ‘Extension Manager”.
  4. Click the ‘Browse’ button and find the location where you saved the download to your computer.
  5. Select the module that you wish to install.
  6. Press ‘Upload & Install’.
  7. Under ‘Extensions’ on the Menu select ‘Module Manager’.
  8. In ‘Filter’ type ‘Bookmarking’ and click ‘Go’.
  9. Click on ‘Social Bookmarking’ to open the Module Configuration.
